This class will focus on common errors in the kitchen, how to avoid them and techniques that can be used to correct them so that you can “save a meal” when things start to go wrong. Students will produce a 3 course meal that will be enjoyed at the end of the class.

Learn how to make pasta the old fashioned way! Techniques will cover mixing and kneading the dough by hand. We will learn to make several types of pastas that will include fettuccine, pappardelle, and raviolis. While instruction will focus on pasta making, you will have a chance to sample several pasta dishes with a vodka cream sauce, roasted garlic marinara, & a basil butter sauce. I will also show you how to store the rest of the freshly made pasta so that you can enjoy it during future meals.
Explore the rich gastronomy of France's region of Normandy which is known for its butter, cream, and cheese products, while learning some classic French cooking techniques. The class ends with typical French meal served family style.

Take a sumptuous four course dinner and turn it into small bites for a classy cocktail party. All items are prepared ahead so that you can enjoy your party with minimal effort during the event: some items can be served chilled and others are reheated just before serving. We had a surprise cooking class in my home for a friends birthday and it was a big hit! Bistro at Home came in and set up the entire kitchen from table settings to stocking the fridge with food. Chef Ryan Cyr was very professional and was an excellent teacher but was also very personable and fun to have around!

Learn the art of making pizza dough. We'll explore several gourmet pizza recipes starting with a Sicilian style pizza with a homemade basil marinara sauce and provolone cheese, followed by a Greek inspired recipe layered with feta, olives, tomatoes, spinach and sausage, and finishing with a non-traditional, but ever so delicious pizza made with a white bechamel sauce made from scratch and topped with walnut, blue cheese and figs.
